A man named Tom Wray saw my recent article on Leatherati about Community Burnout and reached out to me. He just recently came back to the community after taking a two year break. He is working on re-launching a Chicago based Leather community blog called Chicago Den.

As an aside, one of the best outcomes of the Burnout articles has been the stories people have shared with me about their struggles with the community and how they have overcome them.

Please take a moment to check out his blog. In his own words, “the Den is done more as a community newspaper with local events announcements, event coverage and some columns when I can. I’m hoping to expand the coverage to Indiana and Wisconsin, maybe Ohio, Michigan and Iowa if there’s interest in it.”

Welcome back, Tom!

Normally, the Folsom Street Fair is held on the last weekend in September.

However, in 2012, that weekend is the same as Oracle Open World. We
have received word from our partners in the hotel industry that many
of the city’s hotels are already completely sold out for that weekend.
We are in discussions with the City about moving Folsom Street Fair to
Sunday, September 23, 2012. This change would mean that SF Leather
Week would start on Sunday, September 16, 2012. It looks very likely
that this move will happen; however, we will not know for sure until
the City approves our request on Thursday, December 15th at the ISCOTT
hearing. We will keep you updated as more information is available. We
apologize in advance for any inconvenience that this change may cause.

Please pass the word along to your friends and fellow community
members.
