Stephen Lenius was an original contributor to Leatherpage when Joe Gallagher was editing. Now Stephen writes for *Lavendar Magazine*.

Here’s a note from Stephen, updating us on his current articles.

Steve Lenius here, Leather Life columnist for *Lavender* Magazine in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota.
My latest Leather Life column (in *Lavender* issue 436) is one of the most personal columns I’ve written in a long time. It was difficult to write, but I needed to say it. You might cry when you read it. Or you might get angry. Or both. If so, I hope you can channel the sadness or anger into something productive and positive.
Also, I never got around to calling your attention to my previous column in *Lavender* issue 434. It’s still available on the web here:

A man named Tom Wray saw my recent article on Leatherati about Community Burnout and reached out to me. He just recently came back to the community after taking a two year break. He is working on re-launching a Chicago based Leather community blog called Chicago Den.

As an aside, one of the best outcomes of the Burnout articles has been the stories people have shared with me about their struggles with the community and how they have overcome them.

Please take a moment to check out his blog. In his own words, “the Den is done more as a community newspaper with local events announcements, event coverage and some columns when I can. I’m hoping to expand the coverage to Indiana and Wisconsin, maybe Ohio, Michigan and Iowa if there’s interest in it.”

Welcome back, Tom!

I’m very excited to have the work of Barbara Nitke as a special post for Leatherpage. Barbara is looking to fund a book project that will include the below photos, and many more. If you would like to support her project (and receive incentives– like hot prints!) please visit her Kickstarter page.

Without further ado, work from AMERICAN ECSTACY — taken on porn sets from 1982 – 199.

(This work isn’t specifically BDSM focused, but do visit her web site to see some of her work that is. Still, I believe porn has a place in and along side our community.)

I’m very proud of this article for Leatherati. Thank you to all of the contributors. Including: Race Bannon, Queen Cougar, Lamalani, Patrick Mulcahey, Deborah Isadora Hoffman-Wade, Rich Stadtmiller, and Kd Diamond.

Part Two will be published Saturday and it is much more uplifting.

Barbara Nitke has beautiful fine art photography that explores a romantic view of BDSM from the outside.

She’s also working on raising money for a book entitled AMERICAN ECSTASY that she would like to publish. If she is successful in raising enough money, it will include work she did in the “golden era” of the porn industry from 1982 – 1991. Here’s a link if you would like to contribute to her Kickstarter. She offers incentives for your help, such as prints from the book. Beautiful work.

Took a trip out to Scappoose, Oregon to visit the Wesco Shoe Company.
